The most important aspect of Green Fish level is listening and following directions – swimmers that are safe on the step or the wall and can listen and follow directions are ready to move on to assisted swimming drills and then unassisted swimming.
- kangaroo hops for breath control and safety
- reaching for the step and/or the wall progressing to torpedoes to help with body position
- controlling kicks to help move through the water
- working on scooping arms to progress through the water and start learning the crawl stroke
- pop-up breaths
- safety jumps
