Star Fish
Our Star Fish classes are designed for swimmers who have already built a strong foundation and are ready to refine their technique while expanding their skills in the water. This level is perfect for children who can swim both freestyle and backstroke but need extra guidance to improve their form, increase their efficiency, and build endurance for longer swims.
For some swimmers, Star Fish is also the ideal step toward preparing for a swim team. Depending on their age, swimmers in this program work toward swimming 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke safely and confidently. Coaches focus on proper technique, pacing, and breathing to help children develop the stamina and consistency required for more structured training environments.
In addition to improving existing strokes, Star Fish swimmers are introduced to new skills that broaden their abilities in the water. This includes learning the basics of the breaststroke and refining freestyle techniques such as rhythmic breathing and smooth arm recovery. Swimmers also practice treading water, a critical safety skill that teaches them how to remain afloat in deeper water with confidence and control.
Safety remains a core focus throughout the program. Alongside endurance and stroke work, swimmers continue to learn and practice essential water safety skills, ensuring they feel secure and capable in a variety of aquatic settings.
The Star Fish level bridges the gap between early swim lessons and advanced swimming. It gives children the confidence, skills, and strength they need to enjoy swimming recreationally or take the exciting step into competitive swimming.
